How do I make an appointment?
- To schedule an appointment with one of our doctors in Tulsa or Owasso, please call 918-494-2665.
- To schedule an appointment at our Claremore location, please call 918-341-0600.
- To schedule an appointment at our physical therapy facilities, please call 918-927-3199
- You can also go online and fill out an appointment request form, and we will call you to schedule an appointment.
Do I need a referral to make an appointment?
- Most insurance plans do not require a referral for the patient to be seen at Advanced Orthopedics of Oklahoma. If you are unsure if your insurance requires a referral, please call us at 918-494-2665 and we will be happy to assist you.
My PCP sent a referral, and I have not heard from anyone.
Whom should I contact?
- Our goal is to contact all patients with referrals within 24 hours, however, if you’d like to reach out to us proactively, please call us at 918-494-2665 and we’d be happy to look up your referral and assist you.
Which insurance plans do you accept?
- We accept most commercial plans. Your insurance card will have a phone number or website that you can call or visit to confirm that we are in network with your specific insurance plan. You may also call our office on 918-494-2665 and we will be happy to assist you in the process.
I am a new patient at “Advanced Orthopedics of Oklahoma”, what should I know to make my visit seamless?
What do I need to bring to my appointment?
- An up-to-date medication list
- Testing images and reports pertinent to your injury/condition.
- List of all prior physicians
- Comfortable clothing to access the injured area
How do I access the patient portal?
- Visit our website (www.aook.com) and click “Patient Portal.” New patients will receive an email with setup instructions. If you need help, please contact our office on 918-494-2665 and we will be happy to assist you.
How do I get a copy of my medical records?
You can request your records by visiting our website at www.aook.com. Click on the Patient Info dropdown and select Medical Records.

How do I get a school / work note?
- School or work notes are available upon request, please ask a member of the clinical team or front desk during your visit to provide you with the appropriate note.
- You can request a school / work note through the patient portal or by contacting our office after your visit.
How do I get my medicine refilled?
- Please contact your pharmacy and request that a refill authorization be sent to your provider.
- Contact our office and ask to be transferred to your provider’s triage line.
- Refill requests may be submitted through the patient portal for eligible medications.
- Please allow up to 48–72 business hours for medication refill requests to be reviewed and processed. Medication refills are processed during regular business hours. After-hours and weekend requests will be addressed on the next business day.
MRI / CT scan
What do I wear?
- Please wear comfortable clothing without metal, such as zippers, buttons, or underwire. You may be asked to change into a gown. All jewelry and metal objects must be removed before the MRI.
What happens after an MRI or CT is done?
- After your scan, obtain a copy of your MRI / CT to bring to your follow-up visit. Your provider will review the results with you at that appointment
Cast / Brace questions
Can I shower?
- Casts: Keep dry with a waterproof bag or cast cover when showering. Ask your Ortho Tech if a waterproof cast is an option.
- Braces: Some can be taken off for short showers. Ask your provider for instructions.
What to do if my brace or cast is too tight?
- If your cast or brace feels tight, causes numbness, tingling, swelling, or severe pain, contact our office immediately by contacting our office through patient porta or call us at 918-494-2665. Do not try to remove, cut, or adjust it yourself. Your provider can evaluate and adjust as needed.
